The "Twin Turbo" predecessor S7 first appeared in year 2000 August at the Monterey Historic Races and the truth is that then it had 550 horsepower. Saleen S7 Twin Turbo production has been launched in 2005 and, as the name tells, the engine has been upgraded with two water-cooling turbochargers able to reach maximum 5.5 psi of boost, increasing the power by 200 hp. Some other engine modifications have been made as well. Redline is 6500 rpm. The power is transferred to the rear wheels through mid-engine layout 7-liter V8 engine. As most supercars, Saleen has high engine power and low vehicle weight, with a view to high acceleration and good response of a vehicle. The "S7" weights near 1250 kg, nevertheless running at high speeds the weight are doubled due to downward pressure.
